No Senior Should Have to Wait

For nearly 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of leading Meals on Wheels of Solano County. I’ve learned that what we deliver is about so much more than food. It’s a familiar face, a conversation, independence, and the reassurance that someone cares.

But today, older adults in our community are waiting months for Meals on Wheels—not because they don’t qualify or don’t need us, but because we simply don’t have the resources to serve everyone. They are waiting for something most of us take for granted: a nutritious meal.

As we approach 50 years of serving Solano County, I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, but I know our work is far from finished.

After nearly a decade, this work is deeply personal to me. My why is simple: our older neighbors deserve to age with dignity and know their community is there for them. I hope you’ll join me in helping us reach the next person waiting to hear, “We’re here. We can help.”
