Vallejo Project: Transforming Futures Through Mindfulness and Self Reflection

Mission

The Vallejo Project empowers transitional-age youth by providing holistic support in healthcare, housing, employment, and education. Through trauma-informed care and community-based initiatives, we equip young people with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Vision

Our vision is a future where every young person in Vallejo has access to stable housing, quality education, sustainable employment, and comprehensive healthcare. By fostering resilience, creativity, and leadership, we strive to break the cycle of homelessness and create a thriving, self-sufficient community of young adults who are prepared to succeed.

Programs Offered

  1. The House – A Navigation Center offering transitional housing and case management for TAY experiencing homelessness.

  2. The Garden – An urban agriculture initiative teaching sustainable farming and providing food security for community and families.

  3. The Workshop – Skilled trades and workforce development training, including carpentry and media production for community and families

  4. Afterschool Creative Programs – Courses in filmmaking, sustainable fashion, digital arts, music, and crochet for K-8 students

  5. Healthcare Training & Outreach – Patient intake training for youth, public health workshops, and clinical partnerships for 16-24 TAY 

  6. Tutoring & Academic Support – Supplemental education services for K-24 GED, and career readiness.

Number of Intended Participants

  • The House: 20-30 youth annually

  • The Garden: 15-20 youth per cohort

  • The Workshop: 50+ youth annually

  • Afterschool Creative Programs: 300+ students annually

  • Healthcare Training & Outreach: 10-15 youth per training cycle

  • Tutoring & Academic Support: 50+ students annually

Intended Goals for Each Program

  • The House: Provide stable housing and case management, connecting youth to permanent housing solutions.

  • The Garden: Teach sustainable farming skills, provide fresh produce, and promote food security.

  • The Workshop: Train youth in skilled trades, increasing employability in carpentry, construction, and multimedia.

  • Afterschool Creative Programs: Foster artistic expression, self-confidence, and entrepreneurship through creative disciplines.

  • Healthcare Training & Outreach: Equip youth with basic healthcare knowledge and patient intake skills for future careers in healthcare.

  • Tutoring & Academic Support: Improve educational outcomes, ensuring students meet academic goals and career aspirations.

Through these programs, the Vallejo Project aims to create a sustainable and supportive ecosystem where youth can heal, grow, and build a successful future.
