Promoting Healthy Living for Adults and Families

The United Way Health Endowment Fund at Solano Community Foundation was created to improve health and wellness for adults and families in Solano County, with a special focus on adults age 45 and older.  Each year, grants from this endowed fund support local nonprofits and programs that help people live healthier, more independent lives.

What We Support:
Preventive Health Programs - from fall prevention and mobility support to chronic disease management.
Healthy Living Education - promoting fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle changes that build long-term well-being.
Family Health Resources - programs that strengthen access to food, healthcare, and supportive services for aging adults and their families.

Why It Matters:
Our communities are aging rapidly, and many adults face preventable health challenges that impact their quality of life.  By investing in practical, community-based solutions, this fund helps reduce health risks, ease the burden on families, and ensure that older adults can stay active, safe, and connected.  

A Legacy of Impact:
Since its creation through a partnership with United Way of the Bay Area, this fund has supported a wide range of local initiatives, from senior fall-prevention programs to increased food access for older adults.  United Way’s name lives on through this permanent fund, reflecting a shared commitment to healthier communities.
