Homelessness isn’t just a problem in big cities.  It's happening in our neighborhoods.  In Vallejo, tents line sidewalks, freeway shoulders, and empty lots.  These are our neighbors.  We see them on our way to work, the grocery store, or church.  Many go days without food. The need is urgent, and it’s right outside our doors.

A Ministry Born from Love

Mensa Christi began with prayer and a calling to live out Jesus' words:  “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

We couldn’t wait for someone else to fix it. 

We started with a few pots on a stove, cooking homemade meals and delivering them directly to the encampments. Rain or shine, we showed up. 

And we saw something beautiful: not just empty stomachs being filled, but spirits being lifted.

What We Do

Today, Mensa Christi serves over 500 hot meals 3 times a week, every week. But it’s more than food. We bring:

•  Bottled Water
•  Snacks 
• Hygiene Kits 
• Warm blankets, Clothing, Shoes, etc.
• Compassion and Dignity

We don't serve from a center.  We go directly to the people.  We see their faces, hear their stories, and build real relationships.  It's not just about food.  It's about showing people they matter.

Why Your Help Matters

We are 100 percent volunteer ministry.  No salaries.  No overhead.  Every dollar goes directly to feeding and serving our neighbors.  

To continue this work, we need to raise $10,000 this year.  This covers fresh ingredients, water, containers, utensils and hygiene supplies.  

Each hot meal costs about $2.00—so your gift goes a long way:

• $20 helps feed 10 people

• $50 helps feed 25 people

• $100 helps feed 50 people

• $250 helps feed 125 people

Every pot we fill, every plate we serve, every bottle of water we hand out comes from the generosity of people like you. Without your support, the meals slow down, and so does the hope they bring.
