Help Us Build the Pacific Flyway Center

Where Conservation Takes Flight!

Every year, millions of birds traverse the Pacific Flyway—a vast migratory corridor stretching from Alaska to Patagonia. At the heart of this journey lies the Suisun Marsh, the largest contiguous brackish wetland in the western United States. It’s here, in Fairfield, California, that we’re building something extraordinary: the Pacific Flyway Center.

This isn’t just a nature center. It’s was a bold vision by Ken Hofmann to connect people to the land, the birds, and the stories that define our shared environment. And we need your help to bring it to life.

🌿 Our Mission

The Pacific Flyway Center is designed to educate, inspire, and restore. Through immersive exhibits, outdoor trails, and hands-on learning, we’ll showcase the beauty and complexity of wetland ecosystems—and the vital role they play in global biodiversity.

Visitors will explore native habitats, observe migratory birds up close, and discover how conservation efforts—from hunters to habitat stewards—have shaped the landscape. It’s a place where science meets storytelling, and where every visitor becomes a steward of the Flyway.

🛤️ Our Journey So Far

We’ve come a long way. Phase 1—Walk in the Marsh—is already transforming 124-acres into a vibrant, accessible wetland experience. Three miles of sustainable trail, 15-newly created wetlands, native seeding, and a public access parking area will welcome visitors and wildlife alike.

This progress reflects years of environmental planning, CEQA certification, and collaboration with agencies like the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Every step has been rooted in ecological integrity and public access.

🤝 Powered by Partnerships

The Pacific Flyway Center is a community-driven effort. Led by the Pacific Flyway Fund, our team includes educators, scientists, designers, and volunteers. We’ve partnered with the City of Fairfield, conservation groups such as Ducks Unlimited, California Waterfowl Association and International Bird Rescue, and regional stakeholders to ensure this Center reflects the values of our community.

Together, we’re building a legacy—one that honors the contributions of birders, hunters, landowners, and nature lovers from all walks of life.

🎯 What’s Next

With your support, we’ll complete phase 1, open by 2027 and initiate future phases that include:

•  A 28,000-square-foot education center with space for exhibits, classrooms, and events.

•  Expanded trail systems, viewing platforms and restored habitats for native wildlife.

•  Educational signage, species silhouettes, and inspirational quotes to spark curiosity and wonder.

•  Programming for schools, families, and visitors of all ages—serving up to 250,000 people annually.

This Center will be a hub for ecotourism, research, and community engagement, right here in Solano County.

💡 Why Your Support Matters

Wetlands are among the most productive ecosystems on Earth—but they’re disappearing fast. By supporting the Pacific Flyway Center, you’re helping to:

•  Protect irreplaceable habitat for migratory birds and native species

•  Educate future generations about conservation, climate resilience, and biodiversity

•  Strengthen community ties through inclusive, accessible programming

•  Create a lasting legacy of stewardship and environmental awareness

Your donation fuels construction, restoration, signage, staffing, and programming. It helps us finish strong—and ensures that every visitor leaves with a sense of wonder and responsibility.
