Carquinez Quad Squad

Carquinez Quad Squad is the first flat track roller derby league in Solano County, California. Our mission is to educate, empower and develop a community of roller derby, while providing an opportunity to engage in a volunteer-driven, competitive and health focused sport. Carquinez Quad Squad is a WFTDA member league.  We’re here to offer you fitness, empowerment, and entertainment! 

The team was formed by Coaches Hittsburgh, Madeya Ink and the Duchess of Death in January of 2019, when the desire for Roller Derby in Solano County could no longer be ignored! Carquinez Quad Squad became a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2020. 

In 2021, Carquinez Quad Squad joined the California Derby Galaxy (CDG), a coalition of WFTDA-ruleset roller derby leagues in the Greater Bay Area. The purpose of CDG is to provide diverse and numerous opportunities for roller derby athletes and officials to both train and compete, at a variety of levels and frequencies. CDG also has a commitment to lowering barriers to entry for systematically marginalized participants by providing fiscal relief to enable their participation. 

Carquinuez Quad Squad began competing in 2022; in 2024 became a WFTDA member league; and in 2025 played its first "sanctioned game" allowing the team to participate in WFTDA's global rankings system. The Squad host 3-4 home game events each year, travels throughout California to compete, and runs 2-3 annual bootcamps to introduce roller derby to our 18+ community. The league participates in many community events, parades, and members are active volunteers in our local communities. 

Carquinez Quad Squad welcomes anyone over the age of 18 to join us as event or league volunteers or skating/non-skating officials. All people over the age of 18 who identify as a margenalized gender (including, but not limited to, women, trans, non-binary, gender expansive, intersex, and culturally-specific genders) to participate in our competitive and recreational skating programs.
